Holy shit those comments are brutal. Makes you wonder how an “adult” can buy modifications but not full coverage..

They don’t have to pay rent for a year?

I don't understand the mentality of asking for money to fix your car. One of the guys at my school drives a very modified toyobaru and hit some debris on the highway, gofundme went up, he was relentlessly mocked until it came down. Good time.

Ha. If you can’t afford a major repair and you’re not super defensive, then you should probably have full coverage.
I’m super defensive and I still have full coverage.

I don’t know. I can sort of understand if you’ve got no money, but when modifying your car takes precedence over full coverage, it’s asinine.

Haha wow, this is great.

Figured it would appeal to the crowd here, after all boring cars is run by one of our own.

I had full coverage on my 18 year old Explorer.

I'd add that that's true if it's a nice car you're modding. If it's a shit car like mine, no need for full coverage.

we have full coverage on our 15 year old explorer lol

Looks like she deleted the original “Raise money to fix car” campaign asking for $5k, and created the slightly better titled “Help fix my car please” asking for $1,500.

Huh, that sucks for her I guess.

I’m pretty sure the guy who runs that Instagram page is a user on here.
Update: It’s TysMagic.

They’re using the like4like tag...f*ck that. Thats like begging for money after wrecking your car and saying that coilovers are for poor people.

We’ve never had a claim aside from windshield damage due to rocks, we get a 20% good drivers discount, and they wanted upwards of $300 to add collision to our 20 year old vehicle. That’s in addition to the $300 for liability and comprehensive which we already pay.
As it stands we hand over the equivalent to the purchase price of our car to the insurance company every year, without the collision . If we put what they want for collision into a savings account we would be able to buy a replacement vehicle every year. If we give it to the insurance company here , they look for any possible reason to keep from paying out, so I can only assume we'd be screwed in the end.

What do you drive that it's that expensive?
![]() 04/19/2019 at 14:53 |

That is correct.
![]() 04/19/2019 at 14:55 |

But you're also not calling people poor, not getting full coverage, and then after wrecking your car asking for money.

It's the area more than the vehicles. We get raked over the coals on insurance here.

I came across some posts on FB about this. Someone PayPal’d her and she sent explicit photos in return despite being in a relationship. Turns out the PayPal payment was a scam and she never got the money at all. This girl’s a mess.

I feel like I heard something about that too, or at least it was a comment on the go fund me. She is a mess.
